Heartland Impact Thanks USDA Secretary Rollins for Spotlighting Threat of Pathways to Dairy Net Zero

Forthcoming Heartland Impact report will offer a deep dive on the ESG initiative threatening American family dairies

SCHAUMBURG, IL – Heartland Impact today thanked U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins for drawing national attention to the dangers Pathways to Dairy Net Zero poses to American family dairies and previewed a forthcoming Heartland Impact report providing a comprehensive analysis of the global initiative.

Secretary Rollins published a statement on X amplifying Heartland Impact’s video on Pathways to Dairy Net Zero. In the thread, Secretary Rollins warned that the initiative would “burden small farms with costly compliance,” criticized “radical ESG mandates disguised as sustainability,” and declared that “ESG mandates have no place in American agriculture.”

Heartland Impact has been raising the alarm on Pathways to Dairy Net Zero for months, warning state legislators and dairy producers that the initiative imports European-style ESG compliance demands onto American family farms through processor and retailer supply chain pressure.

“Secretary Rollins is right to call out Pathways to Dairy Net Zero for what it is: an ESG compliance scheme that crushes small farms to satisfy climate activists,” said Cameron Sholty, Executive Director of Heartland Impact. “We are grateful to the Secretary for elevating this issue at the national level. American dairy farmers deserve allies in Washington who understand that activist climate agendas have no place on the farm. Heartland Impact will continue working alongside policymakers at every level of government to protect family dairies.”
